8000 Btu Air Conditioner

8000 Btu Air ConditionerWhere can I buy a 8000 BTU air conditioner outside unit?

My air conditioner is broken .... is a central air conditioning system with 8000 BTU outdoor unit.

The technician told me that the compressor has failed and suggested I replace a compressor. But because the unit is fairly old and I have a brand new unit to save the puzzle to come. But it seems that there is no way for me to find such a small central AC, 8000 BTU all that I have found so far are "window" AC ...... I would appreciate it if you can help me on this.

In the area of AC facilities central air systems are called "split". 8000 BTU is a very small distribution system. In recent years, manufacturers have begun to make Japanese systems with small creek known as "mini-splits. I guess you can find outside the unit (also called group condensation) of this size.

A couple of things to keep in mind:
Make sure that the SEER rating of the new condensing unit is not very different from that of the former. The transition from a SEER SEER 8 to 14 would probably not give satisfactory results.

Mini-splits are often used for high voltage control wiring. Regular distribution systems typically use low voltage. Your new condensing unit may require a relay to be added or modified to make it compatible with your old system. (Probably an extra $ 50 on your installation)

Try the leading manufactures websites and send their customer service e-mail or telephone. Most have an 800 number. Or you can simply buy a window unit and put on a frame and some sheets made to conduct the air using your old connection.

Condensing units are not usually measured in BTUs. They are usually measured in tons. 1 ton covers typically 300-500 square feet of space in the house. It depends on the heat load in the house.

I fear that your technology can not know what you need. Get a second opinion.
