How do I change my air conditioner freon? I have a business chevy 2000. Recently, the air conditioning blows hot air even when the switch is turned on the cold section and light AC is running. Someone told me to change the freon, but I do not know where the container is located and how freon replacement. Is there anyone who has suggestions?
Thank you.
Bring it to a store. You must be certified to work on HVAC systems. And you do not replace the freon, you add freon. Freon does not go bad.
You can not edit yourself. I work in a factory with freon and I had to pass a test and be certified to handle freon. I must have my freon recharged last summer. Look in your local white pages, you will find many places to take your car to get it recharged. Good Luck.
Is a refrigeration mechanic work certified! Take it.
You do not change ... you load it because it is empty.
But if you ask these questions, you should not do it yourself ... you must add the correct quantity of the type of law, and your problem is probably a leak that needs to be corrected.
But the short answer is that you buy cans of freon your car at Walmart or auto parts store, buy the kit to attach it to your car, start your car, turn on A / C, and begin to fill.
But as I said, you need to know what you do or you can completely destroy your system or injury.
# 1 Do not listen to this person again in the car as advice goes. You never have to change the freon. Take it and you check because it was probably a small leak that is causing your AC does not cool properly. The light may come but it will not cool as well as it should.
Because of EPA regulations, by law, only a qualified technician is allowed to do so.
Although the low freon can cause the hot air, it can also be due to the AC compressor goes bad, the clutch on the AC compressor is bad, a leak (which could be due to a hole in a line or a bad connection ), or simply a dirty air filter in the ventilation system.
If the air filter into the drainage system is blocked, you will get nothing but warm air. This filter should be replaced periodically, just like the air intake filter for your engine.
Your problem may be as simple as a clogged filter. I would check this first. They are cheep and easy to replace.
Simply purchase a recharge kit at any point of sale of automotive parts (shop around for the best price) and follow the instructions to the letter.
If you pay attention to warnings, cautions and instructions you'll have no problem doing it yourself. The refrigerant is delivered with a dye that will show any leaks in the system. That's great, because you need to know what caused your system to begin to lose freon. If you need a little interest, just get price quotes from some stores!
