Ballast

BallastHow difficult is it to replace an electronic ballast in a fixture kitchen?

I have a strange problem electrical. Our kitchen light went out, and after several weeks, suddenly returns. It remains functional for several weeks, then returned again. Meanwhile, it would intermittently go out for several minutes and back on. Both bulbs were very dark, so we replaced them, but in vain. Everyone we spoke to advised us to buy a new device, as the ballast would be more expensive to replace. Curiously, I ordered a new electronic ballast manufacturer (Sunpark Electronics) for $ 6.50. The device sells for $ 85 Home Depot. Can anyone tell me if they think that the ballast of a new resolve the problem? I am also curious to know why electricians and diy'ers were so certain the ballast would cost more than a new camera. Admittedly, I have not tested all that I am respectful of what I know very little, and frankly ... scares me! Thank you in advance.

you have a simple solution, turn the light, reading the instructions and wiring diagram on the ballast, are easy to replace, you'll need small wire nuts you must cut the wire going to taken so that you can connect the new ballast, electronic ballast runners are not required to seek ... Hope this helps

You're lucky! We had to replace our ceiling fan, because we could not find a ballast for herself thought it was a part of Home Depot. In our case, the ballast was just a plug-in as an outlet. We hope you will do the same.

Well good thing you've found the ballast (capacitor) for cheap. If you look at the ballast, usually it's just a silver cylinder that resembles a film canister. it should just connect like a plug outlet. They are fairly simple. I am not sure what your device looks like, but be sure to shut off the light before doing work on it. The problem resembles the ballast, which is not uncommon and it is a bit like what you describe.

it seems to me that the ballast, there are many types of ballast and some are very expensive you got lucky. they are not difficult to change simply turn the camera off, then the son of color correspond to the same thing that you picked the former.
