Washing errors brightners ABUSE - how to fix? I just washed my husband accidentally ABUSE with Purex Free & Clear, and not on the approved list, because it contains optical brighteners. I usually use soap Charlie (without brighteners). Can you wash brighteners if by rinsing several times, then wash with Charlie?
A note was published in March this year as the effects of optical brighters has been minimal. See links below. Therefore, while they prefer not to use detergents as a rule, there is no danger for occasional use.
I did the same thing about a month ago with ABUS husband. We have checked his work (with night vision goggles!) And saw no difference. A washing does not damage them! DO NOT get rid of them!
No, you can not fix it. Even one of the changes washing. Maybe not to the naked eye. When the ABU were washed in optical brighteners is essentially the ruins and that is why:
Optical brighteners make the ABU more detectable by night vision equipment and make the ABU more visible in low light environment of any kind, by reflecting more of any available light,
EDIT: Yeah, I know the military has done this study, but I keep getting e-mails from his command that reminds us not to use detergents with optical brighteners. My husband made and continue to send these reminders to me.
Mustangs he died. Although there is no apparent difference to the naked eye in a deployed environment where NVG makes you look like a Christmas tree walk anyone wearing NVGs. It makes you a target apparent and anyone nearby for you and sometimes the bad guys are and NVG units they have acquired. They should be fine for normal everyday wear yet but if it deploys combat zone, he will (and should) purchase additional wear and leave those at home.
Unfortunately, thre is no solution for it. The only thing you can do is buy a new set. Of course, he can probably get away with wearing them for the day at work today, but feel free to make, so that if a field exercise or deployment, it will do not wear
So what do they look like now? Can you tell a difference? Lavage should not be lost.
