Consumer Reports Air Conditioners

We have a really small apartment (900 m²) and it faces south / west (maximum exposure to sunlight). The building lacks air conditioning and the windows are not built to support the standard window-mounted air conditioners.

We are nervous to buy a portable air conditioner. I read consumer reports and they have given portable air conditioners ratings very poor.

Have you tried it and it works? If you have had a positive experience, which would you recommend?

I have 2 laptops in my apartment and they keep up the cool all summer ....... My apartment is huge and has 3 bedrooms ........ I like the A / C and recommended to anyone ..... We bought two lowest 5 years ago from WalMart and they continue to work hard! Good luck and stop sweating .... LOL

they work, but they are a pain in the ass, they must be emptied every time.

Yes, they work. The problem is they have a lot of water that drains all the time and it must be collected and emptied at least once a day.
