English Laundry ClothingTeaching English in Thailand in 10 days

If are native English speakers with a college degree in ANY subject you can easily find a teaching job in Bangkok in 10 days, just follow the steps below.

Before departure:

There are several things you want to have in order before leaving to make your job easier when you arrive in Thailand.

1. Make several copies of your college diploma and with the original packing in a protective case.

2. Some employers ask Thailand university transcripts and copies of several to carry with you.

3. Create a resume specific to teaching abroad before you leave. Make sure it focuses on education, training or travel experience you have. Save your resume in either CD or flash drive before leaving so that you can print to an online store in Bangkok.

4. Most employers ask for references so make sure you get 2-3 letters of reference from employers, colleagues or teachers.

5. contact Send emails to large English schools in Bangkok before leaving. You should summarize your qualifications, let them know when you arrive in Thailand and ask for an interview.

6. Nice pack 2-3 suits for interviews. This means suit and tie for men and business attire for women, either skirt or pants is fine, but I think the skirt is more positively regarded by the Thais.

DAY 1: Arrival in Thailand

I hope you have booked a hotel before your arrival, but otherwise do not worry. There are hundreds of hotels in Bangkok with prices starting under $ 10 night. Do some research online before you leave or simply head right to Khao San Road, upon arrival.

Day 2: Get Your Bearings

Watch to the end and let your body begin to adjust. No job search today, instead just wander and start to take in your new environment. Return to your room to unpack your resume, transcripts, etc. degree Unpack one set of clothes interview. If they are wrinkled take them to the hotel or guest house laundry and ironing them. Have a good dinner and go to bed early.

Day 3: get a mobile phone

You will need a number of potential employers to contact you. Do not give them the number of your hotel or guesthouse and ask them to leave a message. It is both professional and reliable. Many messages will get lost or delivered late. Cell phones are cheap and easily available in Bangkok. Go to a major shopping centers such as Central Pinklao (near Khao San Road) or Mah Boon Krong - MBK (near Silom, take the BTS and get off at National Stadium) and you will find many shops selling two mobile phones new and used. Expect to pay 2000 baht (about $ 60) or up to a decent phone. Try to buy new if you can afford. You can get used phones cheaper, but I do not recommend it. Telephones used generally only last for two days to two months and there is no return policy. Save yourself the hassle and buy new, it is still cheap.

Day 4: Hit the computer

Get your CV CD (or flash drive) and head to one of the internet cafes. Open your resume and add your new phone number, and then print 20 copies. The cheapest Internet cafes will be charged at 5 baht a copy. Keep your resume in a folder thick to protect and unwrinkled.

Then start the browser and go to Asia TEFL, where you'll find the best list of teaching positions available in Thailand. Take a look through and copy those that seem promising for you. Send an email to each of the promising and paste your resume directly into the body of the email rather than attach a file. In the e-mail to tell the school that you are in Bangkok and looking to start immediately. Ask them to review your resume and request an int.
