What kitchen knives are comparable to Global? I love my kitchen knives global and want to buy more. But they are a bit expensive! Does anyone know of a comparable level, but more cost effective brand? They should have a similar appearance.

Yes, you can find both, artists most cost effective knives at the performance level or above, and you can find much better than Globals, but more expensive.
Misono has two different lines: steel molybdenum and Sweden Steel Series. Both will be more effective than Globals and have more money. I do not expect night and day difference in performance, but the price / performance is much better for Misono.
Ditto for Tojiro DP series. In other words, if you can find in the United States.
If you think you can take care of knives in carbon steel (non - resistant to staining in other words), then you have even more choices.
