Goodman Air Conditioning Units

My home is 2700 square feet in Southern California, and I replace the manufacturer supplied AC and heating units. The top brands of Lennox and Trane are beyond my budget, if the contractor is recommending Goodman, who is one of the largest manufacturers of such equipment. Consumers Digest rates Best Buy for their budget "spirit" of consumers. Could someone knowledgeable comment on this subject on the quality of Goodman.

I just installed a 3.5 ton AC and heat ..... Been using the air and works .... could see big savings right away ... The furnace will be the next .... how the AC worked I have no worries .. They are good units. Check the ratings of all units ac-to-www.hvac beginners.com. See pages CAC scores compares a large number of brands.

Low-end units are less expensive to install but are more expensive to operate. If you want to keep the house, trying to get a unit more energy efficient. It cost more to install but cheaper to operate. The CA manufacturer you have is probably as good as Goodman.

Contact HVAC companies in your area and ask if they have units of scratch-n-dent they can install. These are units that have cosmetic damage, it may have been abandoned at the back of delivery truck or a forklift folded the outer envelope. They are not good, but still work well.

Whatever system you have installed, keep it clean and change the filter often.

Goodman and janitrol are the same unit, and as you said they are bugdet units so they are quality Buget ... you only get what you pay ... I do know people who have received good service from these units and some people do not receive service beyond those of other ... mostly it depends on how it is installed and maintained .. why have a unit that usually comes with one year warranty when the units are equipped with a good ten-year warranty

My stepfather does to Goodman units .. They are large units. It gives a year warranty on his work and he never had to go in the time of the year. I think he was working on one he has made, and that was the copper running to the unit was leaking. Buy Goodman and never worry. Trane is too expensive and overrated.
