Jennifer ConvertibleMore info on catalytic converters

Today, the world is busy, more vehicles are adrift on the road. This means that with more cars, more pollution than we could get. Cities around the world, especially here in the U.S. are in many campaigns and other projects to save the environment against pollution caused by toxic emissions from motor vehicles and other smoke-generating industries. Maybe we could not completely get rid of the pollution caused by vehicles, but we could reduce the harmful effects that we and our environment suffer. In addition, laws on reducing toxic emissions from vehicles are strictly enforced.

Most vehicle manufacturers now have their own way to reduce these adverse effects. They are now included additional items on the car engine and fuel to do so. A device developed by car manufacturers who control the emissions of pollutants into the internal combustion engine is the catalytic converter. A catalytic converter reduces the toxicity produced. It is located between the fuel system and exhaust system of conventional vehicles.

Most modern cars you can find on the market today are already equipped with a catalytic converter that contains the system to three lanes. The three-way system performs three processes. The first process of the three-way catalytic converter is the reduction catalyst. In the phase reduction catalyst, it reduces the amount of nitrous oxide produced by the engine and converts it much safer chemicals, such as nitrogen and oxygen.

The following process is the oxidation catalyst which performs the oxidation of carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide. The third and final process is the control system. Control system performs the last and most important task of a catalytic converter, which is the oxidation of unburned hydrocarbons and converts them into carbon dioxide and water.

The three processes executed by a catalytic converter to occur before the actual issue of exhaust gases. Catalytic converters contain several parts. The core, which is in modern catalytic converters, is a honeycomb ceramic or stainless steel which supports the role of catalyst in the oxidation stage. Another factor is the washcoat. The washcoat is a mixture of silicon and aluminum, which is added to the base and forms a hard, rough surface. The washcoat was developed by car manufacturers to make more efficient catalytic converter.

There are bunches of different brands catalytic converter you can find today such as catalytic converters Nissan Sentra, Ford catalytic converters and other parts of Nissan .
