Curtains near a water heater dangerous? I have a closet in my driveway / utility that has the heater in it, and our clothes (divided by a wooden panel). I would replace the old panel sliding doors that keep falling off the beaten dented and bent. I want to set up panel curtains from Ikea. Is this dangerous? Will come just above the ground and about 6 inches from the device. The firm is 7 1 / 2 feet long. Other ideas, if it is not safe?
If it is in a closet, I suppose it is a electric water heater ...? Nowhere on the outside of an electric water heater temperature nowhere near putting curtains on fire. If it is a geyser, if you keep combustibles away from the exhaust gas (metal pipes coming out the top of the device), you will be allowed. 6, 1 / 2 'should be a great. There should be information in the owner's manual if it is available that explains the appropriate clearances. If the manual is unavailable, the search for the brand and model on the Internet to find the necessary info.
While he does not go far enough and it should go. You can also spray the fabric with a fire retardant.
not a good thing to do, the heat may burn your curtains, by spontaneous combustion, can be a source of fire curtains would work, I would check with the fire department. ask them
