Mantel Shelf

Mantel ShelfInstalling the Mantel shelf?

I have a brick fireplace and chimney I bought a tablet (not the full coat) off eBay. The fireplace is in an extraordinary state, but the lady said the guy who removed it removed the stuff up and threw it away.

What is that thing be mounting? Do I need to buy a 2x4 and go about it? Is there a special way to hang a coat?

Yep, 2x4 into brick with Tapcon anchors. Nail the mantel to the 2x4. This is the short answer. But not knowing what the fireplace looks like, it can not be the best answer. If I were to build one from scratch, that's how I would. If it works, keep up the chimney when you want, draw a line along the top, take the stack and measure the difference in a matter if you use nails and Tapcon screw the 2x4 to the height . If you need to use the added security trim head screws instead of nails to attach the chimney 2x4 (s).

I would have to see what you're dealing with to give you an exact answer, but here are some options.

Would you use a console or rack to hold the tray in place? If yes, you can drill into the brick with a masonry bit, then use anchors to attach the brackets or brackets.

If you want to join the board, without them, and you do not see a place to screw in the brick, you can always break a line of holes in the brick and into the tray. Use epxoy to secure the bolts without head into the brick, then insert the bolts through the holes conservation. (The holes line up of course) So you use epoxy to hold the bolts in the brick and put it in the holes to keep conservation on the plateau.

I did it with my coat, but I think just bought a piece of wood and attached it ....
