Has anyone had experience with spray kits for the outside condenser on your air conditioner.? It is not a good idea. They are water-cooled condensers for a reason. Spraying water on an air cooled condenser just causes problems such as mineral deposits on the coil. Before long your battery will be rotten.
Basically, the goal is to maintain the pressure head downwards, which in turn gives better compression and gives you more capacity and makes the device more effcient. But it's just not possible. In addition, if you have a device that runs on a device like a bored six-hole or a tube cappilary most do and some window units with central air conditioning units, they rely on good head pressure to feed the EVAP coil. If you lower your head, it can starve the coil. Unless you have a Thermal Valve TXV or TEV Exspansion. Then you could get progress out of it. But you still risk ruining the coil and wasting water.
Misting Kits are made to connect to a garden hose. This allows you to manage the duration of "fog" it.
A misting kit connected to the condenser unit of your A / C against the objective of both. You want to use the misting kit to reduce the sensation of heat while you enjoy your patio. The A / C, is of course used to cool the inner area of the house.
Good luck.
During periods of very warm mist outdoor A / C coil cools the refrigerant. The cooling of the refrigerant results in a pressure drop. Removal of pressure results in the compressor motor does not have to work so hard. As the engine did not work hard that electricity is consumed less.
But do the savings offset the cost of water and possible damage to the coils of aluminum contaminants in the water?
Flood water can also be accomplished with a halo of PVC pipe at the top of the condenser. Small holes are drilled in the pipe that allows water runoff from the outer surface of the fins. A drip tray can be designed to collect runoff and recycle it to the halo using a small electric pump.
Seems simple, and just as economical, to save money by limiting the use rather than by the rigging gear. I do not know?
Yes, and it is a waste of money. Make sure your condenser is clean. You will see more benefit from such a kit mist. It does not take long for the misters to block coverting of dribbling.
