Is there a thermostat for a 220V AC output window unit? I have a window unit AC 220V. It is an old but still works very well. I'm looking for a thermostat that I could put between the unit and the AC output. I found the thermostat output 110V, 220V, but not one. Does anyone know of one?
I guess that old A / C thermostat was not working on it ...
Here's the trick: An air conditioner takes a lot of current. Note that the power cord is thicker than most other devices, even at 220. Then you'll probably have to create a thermostat for this thing that behaves like one for an air conditioning system throughout the house.
Here's what you need:
A simple wall mounted thermostat.
A transformer is 12V or 24V Bell
A relay with contacts 30A is powered by the same voltage as the transformer of the doorbell.
You mount the thermostat on the wall a place not too near the air conditioning unit so that it detects the ambient temperature generally not cold air from the AC.
Providing an outlet for the transformer to the bell and run bell wire to her on the thermostat, then again in the relay so that the thermostat switches the relays on and off.
Provide plug and exit to the relay contacts so that the relay switches on and off the unit HQ.
No, and why the thermostat is integrated in the air (near the expansion valve. So why add another???
