Pellet Burner

Pellet BurnerDid you recently install a wood burning heating system, specifically a type of pellet burner burner. What, is it?

Based in Ireland is considering installing a wood pellet burner.Have your experiences, observations or suggestions. Did you have a pellet boiler installed in a domestic oil burner house. My current in granting garage.A is available in Ireland to adapt to this system. Responses of Europe please.

There are two reasons I would not recommend a pellet burner - 1) wheels wear out prematurely - burn engines because they are generally not designed to handle the workload .--- 2) Igniters will also within about 2 years and will be replaced by a new "super igniter. When the control box wears You can now call this a planter box. The technology to catch up one day that these problems are addressed, but until then stick with oil or gas burner.

We considered a pellet burner of our house in Switzerland. A friend has one and we have seen in operation. But to be honest, it was too noisy (the fan that blows hot air around) and it was not very aesthetic. You do not have much of a flame and of course they need electricity to operate and pellets. The pellets are compressed wood like - look like chicken feed - and are introduced into the burner automatically through a chute above. The stoves were expensive to purchase, at least in Switzerland. They cost about CHF6, 000 or £ 3000 UK pounds.
So we bought a traditional wood stove, stone-covered radiate heat and are delighted. It cost about £ 1,500 installed. The timber cost us about £ 750, but it will take about two years. All this is very recent - we got the woodstove in November 2006.
We also replace our traditional Swiss oil burner fuel oil by a new more efficient and use less oil.
Remember, with the wood stove works so well, we'll just use oil at all hopefully even if towards -16 outisde this week!

We (as a society) has recently installed a wood pellet burner in a very large family property, the work was completed in November. To date, it has failed four times. The wheel on the screw of wood pellets has been changed twice due to combustion (pellet jamming on a regular basis) and the combustion blower has been amended twice. During the Christmas / New Year, the customer has used 440 pounds of wood pellets. The product is a "wood energy" system and while I prefer not to comment on their products, in general, I think this particular system is very cost effective and overrated any way. Also the customer service is nonexistent.
