Are corn furnaces or wood pellet furnaces a better alternative to my natural gas furnace at home? After a friend in Iowa told me that they heat their house to 80 degrees for only $ 1 a day, I had to find a better way to do what I do. They use a shelled corn-fueled furnace. After doing some research I found that many ovens recommend pellets. So who is the most effective and has a stronger future (ie, fuel supply, less volatile prices for commodities, etc.)? Thank you
I have two corn stoves and I was very happy with them. I am not sure that the corn or wood pellets is more efficient but I think that corn is less expensive to operate. You can also buy wheat in bulk from a farmer or grain elevator, with balls that you have all the bags. The heat from maize seems to help with moisture, it does not feel as dry. Right now I'm using a bushel of corn per day so thats about $ 3.50 (each pan). Last year it was $ 2.00. The price of corn is $ 2 therefore changes can and will most likely happen again.
Depends on your area ... both are good, but corn is cheaper in the Midwest and the pellets are cheaper in the fields of wood ... I have seen and as the two guys ... Go to your local ... equipment or food store and see what sells and cheaper.
