Quilting Ironing Board

Quilting Ironing BoardI am looking for an ironing board for quilters, suggestions?

I quilt. I heard of an ironing board which is a large flat surface that goes on a table and it has the grid lines so that when you pass the quilt squares, you can see they are square . Do you know that? Where can if find?

be done, I did. I used half thick, cut to 2 1 / 2 ft x 5 ft and screw the top of the ironing board then covered it took me about 20 min. to

This answer did not say where to purchase a board, but has other suggestions (1 / 4 "seams and how to do your own ironing board).
As a quilter myself, I know it's important to know that you are sewing 1 / 4 "seam. A 1 / 16" added when you make a large quilt with many seams.
To ensure that you are 1 / 4 "seam, take two pieces of tissue - say 3" x 7 "- sewing 7" both sides using what you believe is a 1 / 4 'seam. When you gently press to open it must be about 5 1 / 2 "wide x 7" long. If not then you must move the needle for your fabric or adjust the seam. Ironing it to a network will not allow the place if it is sewn incorrectly. Quadrature of sections from each block as you sew is also critical. If your local parts are not the right size - outside of the finished piece will be incorrect also.

If you are looking for a place to make an ironing board at home - Check out this website at quiltcampus. Net in their library under Articles Newsletter:

You can do your ironing surface size you want - table 3 'x 6'. Ironing surfaces only need the slightest amount of padding and a sturdy cover. You can mark grid lines on the cover that you made ... but with sewing sewing correct is more important.

Good luck!

I duvet. And I have to board an ironing board top. I bought mine at IKEA. They are great to use! I like mine. If there is not an Ikea close by then im not sure where you can go to Ikea was the only place I could find.

It's called the Big Board. I got mine by ordering my local quilt shop (several years ago). Here is a link to the website of the company (not my quilt shop)
