Not sure of the burner of the specific you are considering. However, any gas burner will produce combustion gases and there is no combustion, and then they go into your room. As suggested in one of the other answers, a catalytic converter ensures that all gas is burned and burned completely so no thats carbon monoxide poison! carbon dioxide and water relatively harmless.
