Soapstone Wood Stoves

Soapstone Wood StovesWhat is the best wood stoves better, soapstone or cast iron?

My parents threw a wood stove old iron they have been since I was a kid, and have always been very attached. However, I just bought a house that has one of these wood stoves soapstone beautiful in it, and he is honest as great as the ads say. It radiates heat long after he came out, and it seems it uses much less wood than cast versions. It has a cooktop on this subject, which has proved useful in power outages. To top it all, it is very easy to clean, and it is positively beautiful. I would definitely recommend going the route soapstone, if you are looking to buy a wood stove. Good luck to you!

melting.

What???

To the best of my knowledge is the best cast iron stove. In fact, never heard of soapstone stove s. The iron retains heat and is better than a stove that is just made of ordinary iron.

Depends on what you use it for. Wood is certainly the best for baking bread. For any use, I would cast. Be warned that they put a lot of heat.

I do not know but I melt and Im happy with it
Check out the corn stove. no wood to drag or cut. Buy a bag of 50 # corn cheap and it lasts a month and a feeder on it so that you do not load 3 days

Soapstone is well known for its ability to retain heat much better, but are normally more expensive too. I have had for 14 years now and use it daily in the winter. Most of the time, I had the same fire in her all season. Load and empty the ashes.

I've never heard of a soapstone stove, but I have a cast iron stove insert that we use and we used it for about 15 years and it is great - can put intense heat promote reduced gas use when there is the occasional ice storm coming Thurs I have heat in a room of the house and I can cook on it so life is good -

Iron seems to be the best. It does not leave a smell of wood smoke in your house or your clothes. The cast-iron stoves have now integrated security sensor oxygen depletion and the grid mesh security. They seem to be everywhere cleaner, safer and heat as well as a wood stove, sometimes more than 1000 square feet.

we used three types of wood stoves. I prefer the iron.such expressed as a Franklin stove, it is beautiful, and retains heat much better. you can also cook on the pot be.a top.if need coffee, a pot of beans. its really good to have in case of power failure, durning the winter months.we live in the mountains, and with fuel prices so high and elec. we return to burning wood. also its heat much hotter, and we always put a pan of water on the stove top for humitifer, fine. CUCCA we hare much wood this year, so we'll be cutting and stacking, so that its experienced for the winter .... my thought is that many people return to wood heating next winter. I pan-fried woodcook winter too, and it will be difficult for another research, it is not difficult to learn to cook on overtime. Teaster and food so much better, I do not know what the retirees in the towns will be able to do with the cost of fuel and riseing elec.it the alful. Good luck in your search for ranges, it's worth the envestment.
