Thermostat Manual

Thermostat ManualHow do I place a manual thermostat for a programmable?

I recently bought a programmable thermostat to replace my manual, but the manual provided did not help. Call for services would be my last resort, so please do not say "call the handyman.

basically see where the son is on the former.

I have a basic setup and my son are the following:

R = red (hot 24 volts)
W = white (heating)
G = green or blue (fan)
Y = yellow (AC)
You can also go to the heating unit and double check the designations of wire to the furnace control. and that should put you on track

It should be a couple's son worry.

Did you remove the manual from the wall and watched the son related (without disconnecting)?

This should be your first step, after reading the instructions.

Take notes on how to connect son now, so you can reinstall the old thermostat if you can not get the new one working day.

Then back on the instructions and see if everything fits together better.

There should be the same number of son in the wall that you have places to attach the new thermostat son.

Remove the old thermostat.

Hang the new place. Be sure you have good connections on your son.

Put in a battery if there is not one in

Set the temperature higher than the air temperature in the house

Go to your oven and see if it came from.

Things may well make sense as and through it.

Assume that you will succeed, not fail. (Very important!)

If this does not look at your connections and the libretto. Go to the Internet and search on the thermostat brand / model you have to see if there are better instructions online.

Keep trying.

But do not lose the ability to return to the old OT.

Good luck

Hello Jon

Step one: Turn off the oven switch or circuit breaker. The thermostat ran 24 volts. If you cross the wrong son, you may burn out the transformer. Just 1/120th of a second remaining.

Step Two: Remove the front cover (s) of your existing thermostat. The son must be attached to screw with letters or numbers. Note that thread that will screw. To do so, before removing the son. The most common configuration (but not 100% of the time) R-red (power), Y-yellow (cooling), G-Green (Fan), C-blue (common), W-White (heat), O orange (heat pump only). Depending on your system, you may have other son as brown or black. These accessories perform or sensors.

Step Three: Remove the son of the screw, then remove the old thermostat.

Fourth step: If you have a lot of wire, cut wire being back in the plastic insulation, then remove 1 / 2 inch (2 cm) of insulation. If you do not have a son to spare, carefully inspect the wire former and clean any corrosion, and remove any damaged metal. Make sure there is no break in the wire.

Step Four: Move bundle son through the base plate of the new thermostat. Install new base plate to ensure it is right in place. There will be no mercury, so it need not be at 100% but a level of stat is better.

Step Five: Using the old guide, carefully attach each wire to the new plate. Use a bright light then examine the connections and make sure that no wires touch.

Step Six: Place the cover on the thermostat and bake again. Set the temperature higher than room temperature (at least five degrees higher). Walk to your oven and check to see if it works. There may be a delay of five minutes. Some thermostats have a test mode, instructions to verify.
