I need help to install a thermostat? Any help would be appreciated because I'm using the wireless thermostat for my 10 month old babies room to maintain the correct temperature.
I recenlty purchased a thermostat venstar Wireless
VENSTAR T1100RF and am having a problem with the installation. Everything about the old and new seems to agree with the exception of my current thermostat I have a black wire connected to E, but the new one does not have an E.
Currently I have the following
Wireless G-Green
C-Blue
R-Red
Y Yellow
White W2
E-Black
O-Orange
I also have a B and L, without a son and W1, which is connected to the Y2 yellow with a gold plate (perhaps a jumper?), But no son either.
The thermostat is a honey well with the basic heat, cool off heat emergencies
It can be a model 1028 T8411R
heat pump carries 38YCC036340
air handler in the attic FB4ANF036 also a carrier.
The options on the new thermostat
C
G
Y1
B/O/W1
R
Y2
W2
As I said everything seems to work, except for E.
Can I just leave it unplugged? If so I'll lose heat relief, if ever necessary? Is it possible I should go to Y2, it seems to be the only place open
Also, I may have found the installation guide for the heat pump and it does not show I used. I was not sure if that meant he did not need it or if the item was in the heat treatment of air so that it would not show in the instructions heat pump.
any help would be appreciated!
I'd probably leave the black wire unconnected. Login to Y2 do not make sense. I do not know what is for E, W in a heat pump must be the heat backup. The O says it warm or cool when Y (compressor) lights.
I can not help you with wiring, but the pump systems of size i and sale of heat. I can tell you that if your system has heat bands, they are in the air handler. There is usually a picture on the front air handler should have a place, they noted the size of the bands heat. In our region, a pump 3 ton heat is generally 15kw heat strip. Sometimes they have wiring diagrams inside the door of the unit. Sorry that does not help us much, but I'll give you what I can.
