What advice is there for the efficient and effective use of the unity of my two air conditioners wall? My wife and I are trying to figure this out, we never had the air just wall CPUs. We expect to get central air before next summer.
I use small 12 "oscillating fans who put the A / C temperature reduction of about 2 degrees. They are good to mix the cold air around the room SHAW
The fans are a good idea. Or if you have the ability to run the fan without heat circulating air.
Basically other than keeping the filter clean every year cleaning the coils there is little you can do to make the units themselves more efficient.
There are things you can do to keep the heat from the house, but it's true with all cooling (sun visors, curtains, drafts, insulation, attic ventilation ,...). But this is a separate issue.
They are quite likely less powerful than a central air. And one thing that will affect the effectiveness is the ambient (outdoor) temperature. The cooler is outside the greater efficiency of heat exchange.
So, as far as my best advice is to start early and not wait until the house gets too hot before turning it on. Partly because they are smaller and partly because it runs cool for a full house warm in the hottest part of the day is less effective and less effective.
But the experience that will own master in this regard.
Just do not be surprised if he takes hours to cool a hot house, so if you had during the day at work.
And another thing. Reduce humidity in the house. Fans turn to boil water or take a shower. Reduce the number of plants. Water A / C condensing unit and condensation of water releases heat reducing the effectiveness until the moisture in the house drops.
And moisture reduction is another reason for running it some more soon to speed up the cooling when you need it most.
Good Luck
It is a good temporary solution, you can always sell later.
Use them in rooms with larger volumes.
Try not to be oversized for a room.
I've seen people install these in a row to try to cool the adjacent rooms. This does not work as well as small areas of rapid cooling of the compressor cycle.
You may figure of 500 square feet by 12,000 BTU average. It depends on the normal high temperature where you live.
If you have an unusual amount of widows facing south, you may need more.
Use window shade in all areas that receive direct sunlight.
Try to keep all moisture producing activities to a minimum.
bath fans when showering and make sure the dryer is properly vented.
