Window Shades

Window ShadesStores?

Why does the cabin crew insisting that the blinds are in place "during takeoff and landing?

I'm a former flight attendant and we were told in training to do this for several reasons.

First, the interior lighting must match the outside as much as possible for the takeoff and landing, which is aided by the opening of the shades. We had to adjust the cabin lighting accordingly, either full-light to a landing for a full day or night landing.

This time, the resources are not lost during an evacuation when people are either blinded by the light outside, or need a second to adjust to the darkness. We can not match exactly, but even a slight adjustment or the other can help you.

Secondly, in an accident, emergency lighting must continue. Even if they do not have any passengers outside light to help find a solution. In both cases, have as much light as possible on the outside, logically, is useful.

Finally, after evacuation, all relief workers from outside can see inside the car easier to see if someone is trapped inside.

There have been allegations that it is so that authorities can do a number of "body" after an accident while looking through the windows. It's so absurd and illogical reason, it does not deserve comment. I think I know the source, a very bad book about the profession, full of misinformation.

A smaller one, which is not the reason for the rule, but if someone is suffering from air sickness, it's good, if they can see outside. On the descent, you can get stuck in a model "holding", not funny for those who are prone to motion sickness. Seeing the field, even if the measure below, can equalize the inner ear balance.

Please let me remind you that in an emergency evacuation, do not touch one of your bags. As soon as the plane comes to a complete stop, followed by crew members, and only crew members, instructions. If you're supposed to go out and do not take anything with you.

If there is anyone else having trouble leaving their seats, assess the situation and help if you can do it quickly. In most cases it is best to take note of the location, you get out and immediately inform the emergency personnel on the ground and / or crew, where help is needed.

Hopefully the information you did not use! Just a quick public service announcement ... that could save your life!

It's nice to have the window shades during the flight, but for takeoff and landing, the most dangerous parts of flight, it is more convenient to have in place. Everyone really should be awake at those times anyway even if the sun in their eyes, they'll be out there shortly anyway.

Too funny! As a mystery that is on a flight ... Goddammit, they have a manifesto, the allocation of seats, etc. Now, when a bomb explodes in Iraq, they do not have that luxury ... Flag

Because it is easier to assess the situation outside the aircraft accident. You must be able to see outside to see which areas are clear, fire, etc.

Flight attendants may have to choose who comes from which to evacuate the passengers.

They are trained not to open the issues that could put passengers in the fire or debris, or even near a running engine.
